Here is some background about Wellsway multi-academy trust, which runs the alternative provision on which our investigation today focuses.

Wellsway is led by the chief executive Andrea Arlidge whose salary was £135-£140,000 with £20-£25,000 in employers’ contributions in 2016-17, its accounts show. It runs two secondary schools, five primaries, the Aspire special school and two studio schools, as well as the alternative provision.
