School’s PTA banned from holding events on-site, after parents raised concerns

A school has temporarily banned its parent-teacher association from holding events on its premises after families raised concerns about its management, including the fact that most of them had not been told about Sats results being annulled last year.

The PTA at Stockwell primary in south London was given the news last week, six days after Education Uncovered revealed that only a minority of parents were told that most of its results from 2017 were not being published following a government investigation.

An email sent from Dougal Morton, Stockwell’s acting head of school, to the PTA committee on Tuesday states that “the school will not be able to support PTA events within the school grounds,” while an unspecified “audit” takes place.
