Leader of single academy trust paid �210-�220,000 –around �100k more than usually possible in the non-academy sector

An academy headteacher appears to have been paid at least �210,000 in 2016-17 for running a single school, Education Uncovered can disclose.

The remuneration package, seemingly for Steve Morrison, head of Kingsdale Foundation School in Southwark, south London, is the highest we have seen for managing a single school last academic year, the latest for which official figures are available.

It is higher than that listed as paid to any leader of a single academy trust in recent coverage of the issue in Schools Week and Private Eye.

The school’s accounts list its highest-paid individual as receiving a sum of £210-£220,000 in remuneration.

This is not specifically stated as being Morrison, but he is the leader of the organisation.
