Future Academies board now appears to consist of its founder, his wife and former education or business associates

The board of one of England’s most prominent academy trusts now appears to consist entirely of former business and government associates of its founder –plus himself and his wife.
Two prominent appointments to the board of Future Academies will underline to critics of the policy how close associates of a single person can now effectively control entire chains of schools.
Future, which now runs nine schools from its base in Pimlico, central London, was set up by Lord Nash, the Conservative peer, donor and former Department for Education academies minister, who is now also the “lead non-executive director” for the whole of government.
Lord Nash and his wife, Lady Caroline who oversees Future’s curriculum centre, are two of the trust’s current board, which is chaired by Lord Nash himself.
