Full list of academy sector’s highest-paid shows more than 150 people on at least �150,000

A total of 166 people were paid at least �150,000 for holding senior positions within academy trusts in 2017-18, Education Uncovered can reveal in what are the first definitive* rankings of high pay in the sector.

This website has trawled through scores of trust accounts to compile a list of top salaries. This also shows that 31 people received at least £200,000, in pay alone, in the latest-reported academy year.

Ministers said last year that pay higher than the Prime Minister’s should only be awarded for “exceptional performance and leadership”. The-then Prime Minister, Theresa May, received £151,451 in 2017-18.
