Ofsted's new inspection framework is "incredibly disappointing yet sadly totally expected," write the two former senior Her Majesty's Inspectors Colin Richards and Frank Norris.

 

After two large-scale consultations, thousands of individual responses, expenditure of around two million pounds and long delays, Ofsted has finally published its latest inspection framework for schools and colleges.  To coin a phrase, after so great a period of gestation the “Ofsted elephant” has laboured to give birth to a “paltry mouse”!
